Perspective For the New Year

Can I just be real? I’ve seen a lot of new years. I am grateful for every one. I remember what it is like, to grow into awareness, be excited to participate in the party, the flash, and the glam. And I know what it is like for all to be old hat.

In My 50’s

My excitement now, is in alone time with my computer for blogging, or my Bible for studying, or in the eyes of my daughter and her friends, or their squeals, giggles, and jokes. I love to see them enjoy life.

Resolutions? Yes, several. A word? Maybe PERSEVERANCE. Last year it was GROWTH, and year before, it was COURAGE. This year I have resolutions and goals and I desire PERSEVERANCE in the pursuit.

In my head I know I how I want to strive to meet my goals and resolutions, but most importantly on my heart today is the idea of PERSPECTIVE. Big word in more than one sense, huh?

She is blind and amazing!

I have a blogger friend who I hope to be welcoming into the circle of Telling Hearts contributors soon. Her name is Jena Fellers. She is blind, and amazing. Her sense of sight was taken from her because of a disease called Pigmentosa Retinitus, after some years of teaching. With a change of perspective, with perseverance and determination, as well as God’s strength, guidance, and provision, she created a new life. Different, but good and blessed, with out sight. You can visit her blog, >>HERE<< and look forward to more from her or about her at Telling Hearts.

Hmm. Perspective changes with age. Have you noticed that yet? Perspective changes as you seek God, and get to know His word. Have you noticed that yet? Perspective changes as you journey with the Holy Spirit which Jesus sent.

Some things that I want to PERSEVERE through in 2020:

SERVANT-hood Before Self

“…Let all things be done unto edifying.” 1 Corinthians 14:26

“…love your neighbor as yourself…” Mark 12:31

“…minister to others as good stewards of your gifts…” 1 Peter 14:10

I took liberties above to put scripture in my own words. These verses tell me to serve, to build others. May I persevere to work for kingdom purposes in a wonderful way in 2020.

Kingdom Work with Perseverance; serve, be humble

Humility and Lessons Past

Lastly I want to remember to be humble in all situations, with all people. I know that some people may think that HUMBLE is a loaded word that they wish to avoid, but HUMILITY is a Biblical-ly exhorted characteristic?

1 Peter 5:5 King James Version (KJV)

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.King James Version (KJV)

May I persevere in being humble.

Humility Pill; Lessons Past

It is a humility pill to remember the lessons I learned in the past (most based on my past mistakes):

*Don’t put children before husband all the time.

*Make pleasing and serving husband a priority. I have not blogged about that one yet. It is a new lesson to my heart.

*Bite tongue more. Remember silence is golden, and being POLITE AND KIND is the goal !! I reference to that lesson now and again… In fact, I think I told about that lesson in the post below:

A post series on lessons past, ADVICE from Older Women, >>HERE<<)

In Summary

I have set some humble lofty goals for myself, to serve and persevere for kingdom purposes. Good thing I have the Holy Spirit to help me! And you can too. If you do not know our spirit God, Father, Lord Jesus Christ, we invite you to begin. This post may help >>Invite Jesus into your Heart<< and you may contact us in blog comment, or contact page.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year from all of us at Telling Hearts. May your year be blessed with all the best gifts which come from our Father above. (James 1:17)
