Luke Chapter 15 Devotional

Challenge: read all of Luke 15

Luke 15: 10

“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

Earlier in the book of Luke, we see another instance of the angels rejoicing when Jesus was born! Oh can you imagine the glory and the amazement that filled the skies? Voices so rich with harmonies that had not yet been heard on earth!

The angels brought the town of Bethlehem to attention with their proclamations of the good news of Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us!

Now, we see another instance of the angels rejoicing and I can imagine it is with no less fanfare! A child who was lost has come home! A new name is written in glory! I once was lost but now I am found moment! To think the same angels that lauded our King Jesus coming to earth- now applaud and cheer for one sinner who repents!

What a joyous festive place heaven must be constantly as those who were lost are now becoming children of God!

Pray for sinners to repent and know the hosts of angels are rejoicing forever!

  1. Those angels know what we are saved FROM. A hell never even intended for humans but that had become our natural destiny – by choice. So Jesus came to guide us away, but most still prefer it to heaven. No wonder angels rejoice when we choose right.
