Prayer is a mainstay for me! There’s nothing else that comforts me, strengthens me, encourages me and makes me feel that peace that passes all understanding quite like prayer does.
Why is that?
Because we are speaking to the One who not only created this universe and everything in it, but that also create us! And He didn’t just create us and then throw us out to flounder. No, He created us with a purpose and did so with the full intent of helping us to attain that purpose when we ask for His help.
Isn’t that amazing?! To serve a God that’s so all-powerful, yet so tenderly personable? It just melts my heart ❤
Praying Differently in Different Circumstances
I think we all know, if we’ve been in the faith very long at all, that different situations call for different approaches to prayer. In some situations, we pray tenderly, covering our loved ones in prayers for protection, health and happiness.
Other situations call for more fervent prayer, such as when we’re praying for lost loved ones, back-slidden children or those caught in the throes of addiction. These kinds of prayers are really a kind of battlefield, and sometimes even require fasting.
There are many different prayers and many different ways to pray them. In fact, your prayer methods even depend a lot on who you are as a person, and exactly what and how much you believe of God’s Word.
Seems like a lot, doesn’t it?
If You Need a Place to Start…
Here are a couple of specific posts of mine, from my own blog, Scribbles & Sustenance, that I have written on the subject of prayer. Hopefully, at least one of them will be a help to you and encourage you on your prayer journey.
I also encourage you to start a prayer list, if you don’t already have one. Make sure to write down the most important prayer requests and follow up with making note of when they’re answered. It can surely be a faith booster to go back and see the faithfulness of God in these situations.
And now…on to the posts…
